THE COOKING STUDIO CLASS SCHEDULE FOR JANUARY- APRIL 2019

The Cooking Studio at Liaison College South Coast is a favourite culinary playground, a place to learn, explore and unleash your inner chef. Owned by the former Chef/Owner of The Belworth House Tracy Winkworth, with her passion for cooking, teaching and enjoying great food, The Cooking Studio was born. Tracy has a formidable background in local, seasonal and sustainable cuisine with a global influence and focuses her instruction on popular regional cuisines as well as basic skill set for ingredient driven cooking. Tracy teaches the majority of the classes, with guest and celebrity appearance throughout the year.

The Cooking Studio classes offered are hands-on and designed to walk students through each step towards crafting a complete meal. A great place for learning or improving your cooking skills. Our classes are approximately four hours in length and feature various themes with close relations to local farmers, butchers and purveyors. We also provide private cooking classes to large groups. Calling all pasta lovers! Do you know how to make fresh pasta by hand? Join us as we learn all the tips & tricks to turn you into a regular pasta aficionado. We’ll share our super delicious and easy signature Pasta Dough recipe, plus tons of tricks to make all those pasta shapes you love to eat. Learn to knead, roll and cut pasta into Fettuccine and fill perfectly delicious Spinach Ricotta Cannelloni and Butternut Squash Raviolis. And no pasta is complete without a trusty homemade tomato sauce. Finish with cannoli’s & Espresso.  Bring your friends for fun-filled pasta class!

Artisan pizza fresh from the oven? Yes, please! Join us as we learn the secret tricks behind working with yeast and preparing dough from scratch, shaping dough and creating a variety of thin-crust pizzas from the classic Margherita, to unique flavor combinations including Pizza alla Bismark to Mushroom Lovers White Pizza to Chicago’s Deep Dish. Pick up a few bonus skills as we create delicious Donut Bites, drizzled with a home-made Chocolate Sauce for a sweet treat. Once you see how easy and delicious homemade pizza can be, you may think twice before ordering delivery again.

The art of Tapas is something the Spanish have mastered and you can master it too.  This class is a taste testers delight with each dish steeped in tasty temptations and tradition of gathering friends for a variety of good dishes and easy drinking wine. !   Tortilla de patata (the Spanish omelet) is the most commonly served dish in Spain.   Croquetas de ​Jamon are creamy and smooth and very tasty. Gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp) is a one of the most beloved tapas in all of Spain. To finish we will indulge in Warm, Crisp Churros & Dulce de Leche. Parent & Child classes are a great way to connect with your kids over food and create a lasting memory. The minimum age is 6 for the students.  We will cover some basic knife skills, kitchen safety & sanitation.  The skills we teach will carry with them for a life time.  We three recipes and the best part......we will enjoy the fruits of their labor.
